OK, OK, just this ...

From the [info]altfriday5:

I haven't been recycling, cos the containers are too far away ...

2. What wrongs have you committed against specific people that you should atone for?

None.

Lately, sort of. I have a Date with God every Friday for it.

4. What wrongs have been committed against you that you would like others to atone for, if any?

Broads lie to me a lot, & use me & fuck me over. But instead of atonement, I just make them pay for it. That's why their lives are shit, & always will be.

5. When was the last time that someone atoned for a wrong they committed against you? Tell us a bit about it.

I have no clue. Probably never.

formatting later, as i've got to goooo

alt:

1. The list of the top 100 challenged or banned books from 1990 - 2000 is here: http://www.ala.org/ala/oif/bannedbooksweek/bbwlinks/100mostfrequently.htm (or, for a less youth-oriented list, go here: http://books.google.com/googlebooks/banned/). Which of these books have you read?

I've read:
I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou
The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
The Color Purple by Alice Walker
Blubber by Judy Blume
A Light in the Attic by Shel Silverstein (LOVE)
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
The Anarchist Cookbook by William Powell
The House of Spirits by Isabel Allende
Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald (one of my favorites)
Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston
A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
The Jungle by Upton Sinclair
Naked Lunch by William S. Burroughs (HORRIBLE)

Currently on my reading list:
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain
Ulysses by James Joyce

Have always wanted to read:
Lolita by Vladimir Nabakov
The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck
Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison (read part of it a while ago)
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (saw the film with my mom, LOVED)

2. Which of those books, if any, had a strong effect on you -- either positive or negative? How did they affect you?

The Catcher in the Rye had a very positive effect on me, I absolutely loved it. I've no clue why on Earth losers see themselves in the main character, he's an amazing person. Slaughter-House Five was boring & I almost killed myself while reading it for class in college.

3. Have you ever been personally affected by or involved in a challenge or a ban of a book? If yes, tell us a bit about it.

I think somewhere along the line Before Night Falls by Reinaldo Arenas might have been banned. That book completely changed my life.

4. Have you ever read a book that you felt should have been banned? If yes, why?

Anything by Burroughs. I absolutely loathe him, he shouldn't have the honor of being called a writer.

5. How do you feel about the banning of books? Is it an important issue to you?

Books shouldn't be banned, society should be wiser, I believe.

friday5:

Broken.
1. What's the last thing you broke?

A cigarette.

2. What's the most expensive thing you've broken?

My car, but it wasn't my fault, I swear.

3. Do you consider yourself clumsy or graceful?

I get more graceful as I get older, but I am a bit clumsy when I'm nervous.

4. How much money do you have in your wallet right now?

About 50 centimos.

5. Someone asks for change while you're walking down the street -- what do you do?

Depends on the person, usually I just walk by, cos I'm poor, too, but if it's a person outside of my mother's church, I usually give them whatever 1 or 2 centimo coins I have in my wallet.

Fridayyyyy 5

Friday 5:

1. When I'm angry, I walk away, and later make them pay.

2. The first time I realised I love life I also realised I love myself.

3. I was born in Terceira, Açores.

4. My favorite artist is Modigliani.

5 I laughed so hard when Paula did an imitation of my landlord doing an imitation of the boy who lived in my flat before me.

Alt Friday 5:

1. How much time do you spend keeping up with the news? Why?

FOOTBALL NEWS? A lot, cos I'm trying to catch up with the boys my age. WHY? Cos I love football. Regular news, just a bit, I try and watch the news when I can and such, and read some articles. Why, cos I care about stuff going on sometimes.

2. What are your main sources for information about current events?

FOOTBALL NEWS? Sevilla FC's website, Jesus Alvarado's blog, this awesome searchable newsfeed Emrah Darling gave to me, newspapers, and the daily news on television as well as sports channels and random conversations in bars and with boys in general. Regular news, what I can stand before and after the sports news on television and in the newspapers.

3. Which current news story has you the most angry or upset? Why?

FOOTBALL NEWS? Well, that SFC hasn't signed the media contract so I can't watch the matches. But I can at least hear them, which gives me half-heart-attacks, but I'll take what I can get right now. I reallyreallyreally want to see it and it's not fair for the commentator so say QUE BONITO! Regular news, the immigrant problem, because just to the Canary Islands this year there have been nearly 20,000 immigrants, and some more dead ones, and that's just ridiculous. We can't pay for it and have to keep begging the EU for help. We should just cut it off at the source, I think.

4. Which current news story has you the most happy or excited? Why?

FOOTBALL NEWS? That SFC is #1, why cos we're the best and we should be; and that Reyes is at R.Madrid and that the losers have left, why cos Reyes is my cousin somewhere along the line and I love him and want him to be happy and triumph and cos R.Madrid is in second place in my heart now, on a national level (international I'm with the Spanish selection, duh). Regular news, I don't really know, but I like it when Mr. President Bean speaks, why cos he's not an asshole like presidents are supposed to be, he's actually quite calming and reminds me of good things and I'd like to meet him one day. I met Carter when I was a baby kid, I have fotos. But these fotos would be cooler.

5. If you could change one thing about the way news is gathered and disseminated, what would it be?

FOOTBALL NEWS? I'd have it delivered to my house through telegrams by the footballers themselves, and they'd have to read it and maybe act out what happened. Regular news, I'm pretty happy with the way the news works in Spain, after being in the States so long ... what I would change is to make more people care about what's going on outside of their stupid lives, at least love something outside of you like football or your city.
